How Prompt Feedback Works

The Prompt Feedback product feature is designed to help Hinge users showcase their best and most authentic selves. It uses machine learning to assess users’ prompts and offer personalized feedback, ideally resulting in more likes and matches, which should ultimately result in more dates.

How it works:

From Edit Profile: For users with complete profiles, we will assess and offer private feedback for up to 3 prompts to help them stand out in a way that feels authentic and engaging. 

Prompt Feedback provides three levels of guidance:

• “Great Answer” - Keep it as is
• “Try a Small Change” - A tweak could make it even better
• “Go a Little Deeper” - Add more details about yourself  

Daters receive personalized feedback about each answer to encourage more personal and specific responses.

Prompt Feedback doesn’t tell daters exactly what to say. Rather, it gently guides daters to show up as their best selves. Users can ignore feedback if they wish, and choose to keep their original answers, or they can update the prompts based on the feedback.

At any time, users who are writing a prompt can click ‘Get Feedback’ (if a user has hit their limit for getting feedback, we will let them know).

What happens if my prompt violates Hinge policy? 

As always, it’s important that users read and understand our Terms of Service to ensure that sensitive text or topics are not used. If your prompt is inappropriate, you may receive feedback that directs you to our Safety Resources or Terms of Service.
