What is Your Turn Limits?
Your Turn Limits is a feature designed to increase daters’ focus on quality over quantity of matches by limiting unanswered messages.
With Your Turn Limits, daters with too many people waiting for their response will need to reply or end the conversation with their matches before making new connections.
How does Your Turn Limits work?
When too many people are waiting for a response, daters will not be able to send or receive new Likes until they take action with their current matches.
To connect with new people, daters who’ve hit the limit can either continue the conversation in an existing chat where it’s their turn to respond or close the conversation with people they no longer anticipate connecting with.
Why did Hinge introduce Your Turn Limits?
This one-of-a-kind feature was introduced to help solve one of the biggest challenges Hinge heard from daters: having matches who don’t respond.
Hinge tested Your Turn Limits and found that this feature successfully increased responses on the app. By releasing Your Turn Limits to all daters, Hinge aims to encourage everyone to prioritize and focus on their current connections, leading to more dates and fewer unanswered messages.
Will my matches know I’ve hit the limit?
Daters will not be notified if their match hits the limit.
What happens if I receive a Like once I’ve hit the limit? Can I accept it?
Daters who have hit the Your Turn Limit cannot accept new Likes until they either reply to someone awaiting a response or end the chat.
How will I know if I’ve hit the limit?
Daters with too many people waiting for their response will receive a pop-up notification telling them they must either respond to a match or end a conversation.
If a dater approaches the limit, they will see a progress bar above their Matches.
I’m subscribed to HingeX. Will Your Turn Limits apply to me?
Your Turn Limits will be applied to all daters who have too many people waiting for their response.
As a Hinge+ or HingeX subscriber, this is not a limit on the amount of Likes you can send. Subscribers are welcome to send unlimited Likes once they respond or end chats when it’s their turn.
This feature is designed to encourage all daters to build connections with their current matches before collecting new ones, fostering a more meaningful dating experience.
