Your preferences help shape your experience on Hinge, whether you know exactly what you're looking for or want to keep your options open. You can adjust them anytime to better reflect what (and who) you're interested in.
To adjust who you see on Hinge, you can edit your Dating Preferences.
To Edit Your Dating Preferences:
- Tap the Photo Icon (far right of the navigation bar).
- Tap the Dating Preferences Icon

- Select the preference you’d like to update.
- Tap Save to save your preference
To make a preference flexible:
- Select the Preference you’d like to update, and make any changes necessary.
- Check the box next to Show profiles outside of this preference if you’re open to seeing profiles outside of this preference. These changes will immediately take effect.
- Tap the Save to save your preference.
From your Dating Preferences screen, you’ll see Flexible next to any preference where you’re open to seeing profiles outside of that preference.
Please note: Gender Preferences are strict by default and can’t be loosened.
Can other users see my preferences?
No. Your Dating Preferences are private. They only act as filters and are not visible to anyone else.
