If your account has been banned for violating our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, you may have the option to submit an appeal.
How to Submit an Appeal:
When you open the Hinge app, you’ll see a screen explaining your ban. Your specific screen will provide details unique to your situation.
When you tap ‘Appeal’, you will be asked to describe the nature of your appeal, specifically why you believe your account did not violate our Terms of Service.
Once you submit your appeal, you’ll receive a confirmation that we’ve received it.
We are only able to process appeals that are submitted through this designated in-app flow.
Please note that reaching out further after submitting an appeal may alter your position in our processing queue and increase the time it takes our team to review your appeal.
When ID Verification is Required
For some types of appeals, you will be required to upload a valid government-issued ID before submitting your appeal. You won’t be able to continue with your appeal without providing this.
In other cases, Hinge may request ID verification after your appeal has already been submitted if we determine it’s needed as part of our investigation.
If you are unable to submit an ID but believe your ban was made in error, please contact us by submitting a request below:
- Under Please Choose Your Issue select “Submit an Appeal.”
- In the subject line, write “Issue with ID Verification.”
If you have an ongoing communication with our team, you may also respond to our appeals team through email.
What happens After I Submit My Appeal?
A member of our safety team will be in touch with you via email. You may be asked to verify your identity by submitting an official, government-issued ID. If you’re outside the U.S., submitting a passport may speed up the process.
Please Note:
We are unable to process any appeal submissions submitted via email. Appeals should be submitted using our In-App process.
Any appeals submitted via social media or sent to individual Hinge or Match Group employees via email will not be processed. These appeals will be redirected to use the process outlined above.
