We know updating your payment method or subscription isn’t always straightforward, but don’t worry—we’ve got you covered.
A Hinge+ or HingeX subscription unlocks premium features designed to help you make meaningful connections. If you’re adjusting your subscription, here’s everything you need to know.
Changing Your Payment Method
If you need to update your payment method, you’ll need to do so on the platform where you originally subscribed (iOS or Android).
On iPhone:
- Open your iPhone Settings
.
- Tap Apple ID.
- Tap Payment & Shipping.
- Tap Add Payment Method or Edit to update your payment details.
On Android:
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Tap the Menu icon.
- Tap My Account.
- Tap Add Payment Method or Edit Payment Method.
If you don’t see an option to cancel your subscription, you’ve already successfully canceled it.
Upgrading Your Subscription
Ready to take things to the next level? Upgrade to HingeX for more ways to stand out, like Priority Likes and enhanced recommendations.
If you’re a Hinge+ subscriber upgrading to HingeX, your new subscription will start immediately.
- On iOS – Apple will automatically issue a prorated refund for any remaining Hinge+ time. Your billing date will reset to the date of purchase.
- On Android – Any remaining Hinge+ time will be credited to your new subscription, and your new billing date will be visible in Google Play.
Downgrading Your Subscription
To downgrade from HingeX to Hinge+, you’ll need to cancel your HingeX subscription first, then subscribe to Hinge+.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid charges. This is required by Apple and Google and cannot be changed.
Deleting the Hinge app or your account does NOT cancel your subscription. Be sure to follow the steps below.

On iPhone:
- Tap here to view your Subscription page.
- Tap Hinge.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.

On Android:
- Tap here to view your Subscription page.
- Tap Hinge.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the instructions.
- For more details, visit Google Play’s support page.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the next billing period.
