Not every connection is the right fit, and that’s okay. Unmatching lets you remove a conversation when it no longer feels right for you.
Unmatching is permanent—once you unmatch, the conversation will disappear, and you won’t be able to message that person again.
Note: We are unable to restore a Match on our end.
To Unmatch Another User:
- Open the Conversation with the person you want to unmatch.
- Tap the Three Dots in the top right corner of the screen
- Select the Reason for unmatching.
- Tap Unmatch to confirm.
From the Matches Tab , you can also Swipe the User’s Chat to the Left and select Unmatch.
Looking for a way to organize your chat list without unmatching? Try the Hide feature instead—it removes a conversation from view but keeps the connection intact.
Why Did My Match Disappear?
If someone you were chatting with is no longer in your Matches, one of the following may have happened:
- They manually or accidentally unmatched your profile.
- They deleted their Hinge account.
- The user's profile has been removed due to a violation of Hinge's policies or terms of service.
Please note: If you unmatched someone, this is a permanent action and can not be undone.
