At Hinge, we strive to create a positive, respectful environment for all daters. This means being thoughtful and transparent about our Community Guidelines, our Terms of Service, and how we handle content that is not allowed on profiles.
Sometimes a specific piece of content may violate our Community Guidelines, even if the rest of a profile doesn’t. In many cases, we remove profile content that goes against our Community Guidelines, such as photos, videos, or prompt answers, without removing the profile entirely.
However, some areas of profiles, such as name and job title, allow users to freewrite. When content goes against our Community Guidelines in free-text areas of a profile, we may send a notification asking the user to review and update their content.
Why am I receiving this notification?
If you receive a notification asking you to Review your Profile, it means that some free-written content does not align with our Community Guidelines.
We recommend taking a moment to revisit our Community Guidelines along with the following areas of your profile, and make any necessary updates to your profile:
- Name
- Ethnicity Backstory
- Work
- Job Title
- Education
- Dating Intentions
- Relationship Types
- Answers under Date Ideas
Receiving this notification will not affect the functionality of your account. These notifications are meant to encourage daters to pause and review their profile content and Hinge Community Guidelines, allowing them an opportunity to adjust their profile so they can remain on the platform and focus on finding compatible matches.
If content that doesn’t align with our policies remains unchanged, we may take further action in line with our Terms of Service.
