If you see an error message when trying to subscribe, here’s what might be happening and how to fix it:
- Your Apple ID might be linked to another account – Each Apple ID can only have one Hinge account and one subscription at a time.
- You’re a Hinge Beta Tester – Beta testers are unable to subscribe.
- You have an old Hinge account still active – If you created a new account, your subscription might be tied to your previous one. Deleting your old account ensures your new subscription runs smoothly.
How to Delete an Old Hinge Account:
- Sign in to Hinge using the phone number linked to the account you want to delete.
- Go to your Profile by tapping the Photo Icon.
- Tap the Gear Icon to access your Account Settings .
- Follow the prompts to delete the account.
Keep in mind that by deleting your account, you will no longer have access to past matches and messages.
Once your old account is removed, you’ll be able to Subscribe to Hinge+ or HingeX.
Subscribed via Hinge payment (powered by Stripe) on iOS?
If you originally subscribed using Hinge payment on an iOS device, and you’re trying to upgrade from an Android device, you’ll need to return to your iOS device to upgrade or manage your subscription.
If that’s not possible, you can cancel your subscription, wait for the remainder of your subscription to lapse, then resubscribe using Google Play.
If you subscribed using Hinge payment (powered by Stripe): You can cancel your subscription at any time by following the steps provided by Stripe, our secure billing partner. Once you cancel, you’ll need to return to Hinge to upgrade your subscription.
Be sure to use the email address where you receive Hinge Subscription emails, even if it's different from the email linked to your Hinge account.
Subscribed via Hinge payment (powered by Stripe), but Changed Your Location?
At this time, Hinge payment is limited to the US. If you subscribed via Hinge payment but changed your App Store location to a region outside of the US, you won’t be able to upgrade using Hinge payment.
To upgrade, you’ll need to either: Change your App Store region back to the US, then upgrade in the app, or cancel your subscription, wait for the remainder of your subscription to lapse, then resubscribe via the App Store, in your new region.
If you subscribed using Hinge payment (powered by Stripe): You can cancel your subscription at any time by following the steps provided by Stripe, our secure billing partner. Once you cancel, you’ll need to return to Hinge to upgrade your subscription.
