Discover is where possibility begins. Here, you’ll see potential matches who align with what you're looking for—so you can focus on making meaningful connections
The Discover feed will populate with recommendations based on mutual interest, meaning the users you see fit your preferences, and you fit theirs. It’s designed to help you connect with people who might truly be a match.
You can access Discover anytime by tapping the “H” icon in the lower-left corner of the app.
Liking Someone in Discover
When someone’s profile catches your eye, you can like a specific part of it—whether it’s a photo, a prompt, or something that stands out to you. Simply tap the heart on any of their photos or prompts. Then, confirm by tapping Send Like.
Want to make a stronger impression? Adding a comment when you send a like makes it three times more likely to get a response!
If the user accepts your incoming like, they’ll appear as a new match in your Matches tab, and you can start chatting.
For profiles you are most interested in, we offer tools and features that further improve the probability of a match. Check out Roses or the HingeX-Exclusive feature Priority Likes.
Skipping a Profile
Not feeling a particular profile? That’s okay—just tap the X icon to skip.
If you accidentally skip someone, you can tap the undo arrow to bring them back.
Please note: you can only undo your most recent skip.
If you see "Undo unavailable," that means the profile can’t be restored. Unfortunately, we’re unable to manually bring back skipped profiles in Discover, Standouts, or Likes You.
Removing or Reporting a Profile
Your safety is important. If you come across someone you’d rather not see again, tap the three dots in the top-right corner of their profile and select Remove or Report.
Additional Discover Filters Available to Subscribers
Want more control over who you see? Hinge+ and HingeX subscribers can filter profiles based on additional preferences, like:
- Age
- Height
- Dating Intentions
- Active Today
- New Here
All Hinge members can still filter by Age preferences.
To enable a dating filter, simply tap the filter option you’d like to apply at the top of your Discover feed. Adding a new filter will display a profile that matches your selected criteria.
For example, if you want to filter to see a person of a certain height who is also active today, you would tap both filters. Tap the filter again to remove or adjust the filter. A new profile will be shown in your Discover feed when a filter is added or removed.
Hinge does not offer a search option to search for specific people
